In late May 2026, a Hong Kong delegation visited Gongshu District, Hangzhou for the 3rd Gongshu-Hong Kong Economic, Trade and Cultural Exchange Conference, connecting business, education, innovation and cultural exchange settings.
Overview
The Hangzhou visit was not a single-company visit; it combined Hong Kong-Hangzhou business and cultural exchange, young entrepreneur interaction, education representatives, innovation platform visits and talent landing project matching. Through the exchange conference, enterprise and research platform visits, cultural district walks and dinner networking, the delegation built a fuller understanding of Gongshu business environment, industry support, youth entrepreneurship and city culture.
Officials and Participants
Representatives including Wang Xinyu, Deputy Director of Hangzhou United Front Work Department; Shen Jianli, Member of the Gongshu District Party Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department; and Jia Yuanyuan, Deputy District Mayor of Gongshu District, joined the exchange.
Representatives from the Hangzhou Hong Kong Gongshu Association, Hong Kong young entrepreneurs, Hong Kong Youth Cultural Exchange Association and Kowloon City District Primary School Heads Association participated, bringing together enterprise, education and cultural exchange perspectives.
The exchange covered the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Hangzhou Technology and Innovation Research Institute, Hong Kong entrepreneurial landing projects in Gongshu and Gongshu overseas Chinese enterprise representatives, focusing on technology innovation, landing projects and industry matching.
Responsible representatives from Hangzhou United Front Work Department Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, as well as Gongshu talent, development and reform, technology and industry, commerce, investment promotion, education and industry and commerce departments also joined related exchanges.
Visit Timeline
The delegation arrived in Hangzhou and began the exchange programme with a visit to Qiaoxi Historical District, understanding Gongshu through its city culture and Grand Canal context.
The programme included Smart Valley, Top Cloud-Agri, Tairson Group and other industry nodes, followed by the 3rd Gongshu-Hong Kong Economic, Trade and Cultural Exchange Conference and welcome dinner with government, enterprise and youth representatives.
The delegation visited the Wensan Future Technology Experience Centre, Westlake University Yunqi Campus and related research platforms, then continued to cultural sites including Deshou Palace, Hu Xueyan Former Residence and Impression West Lake.
The programme continued to cultural districts including Xiaohe Street and Xiangji Temple, concluding the Hong Kong-Hangzhou youth, education, innovation and cultural exchange before returning.

Through the Gongshu-Hong Kong exchange conference, Hong Kong representatives understood Gongshu business environment, industry layout and cooperation entry points.
